Does this happen for anyone else? It's kind of annoying to have to click on it again to mark it as read, when all you wanted to do was flag it... :/

Who is your email provider?

My personal email is through Gmail (via Exchange), and flagging messages does mark them as unread.

My work email is through Exchange. Flagging them on the phone also flags them on my desktop, while marking them as read.

Ah you're right, it's only my Gmail (via Exchange) that does it. My work e-mail (via Exchange) is fine. I guess I should try setting up my Gmail as IMAP? I hear this also fixes the problem of flag to star conversions for Gmail...

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

If u setup gmail via IMAP, u lose the ability to get new messages via PUSH. to me that's more important than starring/flagging, but to each their own

This works. I've been trying this method for a day and has solved my flagging issues. I don't need push email anyway as my email is never that important to have to read right away.

Just tried it tonight and it is amazing! I also don't need push for my Gmail, only my work (which already works fine via Exchange - probably because it is powered by Exchange lol). Thanks!
