Hi,

I am not really used to flashing VGA cards and I have found a couple of threads debatting about how to achive what - but is there a basic tutorial somewhere on how to get a GTX285 PC version to work in a mac?

(the right additional power chord is already there)

Thanks in advance!

The flashing is easy, type some commands in terminal and there you go.
The problem is that the Apple GTX 285 needs a bigger ROM chip (256KB) due to the EFI partition. But a PC GTX 285 only has a 128KB ROM chip.
To flash your PC GTX 285, you will have to replace your ROM chip first, which requires some soldering work.

Why even bother flashing . ebay sells an original gtx 285 mac edition for $160

The ones on ebay for $160 appear to be refurbished. You can buy a refurbished one directly from EVGA for $130 without having to go through the ebay middle-man.
