I am trying to install a 13.6GB .dmg file to a 32GB flash drive, but the flash drive will occasionally disconnect and stop the file transfer. It will usually stay available for a few minutes after plugging in, but not long enough to transfer the file (it usually fails at about 200MB or earlier and gives the error "The operation can't be completed because the device disappeared.") This error also happens when plugged into other devices so it isn't a problem with the MacBook's ports. It is currently in ExFAT format with GUID Partition Map, and there are no files currently on it. I bought it just a few days ago as well. Is there any way to fix the flash drive so that I can transfer files on and off of it consistently?
The device I am using is an M1 MacBook Air running macOS 12.4 btw
