Flash Gallery & Blog Help

Hi Guys. I am building a new version of my website (the one in the sig) and I really want to do it nice this time and have some questions. Here is the design of my blog page so far.

I'm looking to make the blog as integrated into the page and site as possible. Here is an example of what I'd LIKE it to look like.

FURTHER MORE, I am looking to integrate a seamless flash gallery into the site. Will this have to be made custom? Here is another mockup...

Oh and any tips on the design (although the colors are not final) are also appreciated!

This design looks pretty good. The colour could do with a few changes. The photo bit with the thumbnails will probably be needed to make custom but there are shortcuts to make the thumbnails load and things like that.
