I was just curious if it was possible to put a different OS on an iPhone. Just curious. My friend is flashing his HTC One to put the Google Play edition of Android on there. I know it's not a completely different OS because it's still based on Android, but they can still do it.

I was thinking maybe, just to try it, the Linux OS. I love iOS 7 too much to stay away though.

Its no secret that the iPhone has a lesser hardware spec than many of its Android rivals, but iOS is optimized. I doubt you could install another OS on an iPhone as these days they would likely be too demanding on the hardware.

If you want to TRY Android, don't try to run a hacked up variant for hardware that wasn't ever intended to run Android. That isn't really giving it a fair chance.

You can get a new Nexus 7 running the latest version of Android for $230. The Nexus 4 is $300. Why not go that route? A used Galaxy Nexus maybe?
