Hello,
I just got my website up and running a few weeks ago and I'm loving it!
However, some of my friends are having a hard time with my videos. Sometimes they just can't read it, and sometimes their machines freeze.
I've tried to lower the file sizes for them, which helped a bit, but it seems Quicktime just doesn't work well with everyone.
Also, I just bought an archos 605 wifi that reads flash through its browser... but doesn't read quicktime! So I'd like to be able to view my website/videos via that browser.
I'm thinking about trying to convert all my movies to flash but I have some questions...

1. how? I have Quicktime Pro, but since I've upgraded it, have FCS2, and an intel mac, it no longer has the option to export as movies to flash.

2. Will the quality really suffer?

3. Does this even work with iWeb? I'm quite a novice at this website stuff. I love how I can just click and drag files to my site, then publish it.

Thanks guys.

check out a software called visualhub. It is not free but not too expensive either. There may be others like it.

you could just upload to youtube or something and use the html snippet function in iweb to copy and paste the code from the youtube vids page. plus it wont use up your own storage.

Ah, thanks for the info. The program really isn't too expensive, I just feel bad spending the money for JUST flash since I have compressor for everything else.

Maybe I'll get it. But does anyone know if the quality will be really bad, or is that something you can adjust?

flash can read h.264 files, so you could export as that assuming you have a flash video player to embed in your page

Ahh thanks. I wasn't sure how that worked, and I guess I was hoping it was just click and drag with that. I googled how to setup flash on my site... it doesn't look too hard but it's just not something I have the time to do right now. Ah well!
