Hey,

I just wanted to ask a quick question: Do you need flash in 2016? Since I'm not an "IT-pro", I don't know which websites still require flash in order to function normally.
I only visit "generic" websites.

In advance, if this has already been discussed I'm sorry for posting this thread.

I have ditched it as a form of social activism. ;) It sometimes makes life annoying, but it really is time to move past this awful piece of coding imo.

As a Crestron programmer I have to have Flash installed on my work machine. The Core3 platform Crestron uses for their interfaces is built on Flash.

To complicate things though since Adobe announced their new direction with HTML5 they released a killer update for Flash that broke Vision Tools and left us scrambling. We ended up having to uninstall Flash and reinstall a older version manually and turn off updates. This of course is a huge security risk.

I really wish that Crestron would have went with HTML5 instead of a dead technology.

I haven't had that pile of dung on any computer since 2010 and haven't missed it once.

Depends. If you play Left4Dead 2 on Steam, a lot of servers run advertising billboards at the beginning of each level. Found out the hard way that if Flash isn't running, L4D will crash.

Don't install Flash. There are few sites that need it and you can install Chrome that had the Flash plugin built in. Which is also the only reason I have even installed Chrome :)

Why even ask? If you need it, you install it, if you don’t, you don’t install it. Preemptively installing software is not necessary as it literally takes just a few minutes to install it.
