And you got he latest Flash version from Adobe directly and not even a restart or another admin account (even if temporary) did remedy the situation?

Yup latest version and restarted, I ended up having to install 11.8 beta which is not ideal. It just does not make any sense?

God this is really pissing me off. See the retry button? Well I click it, nothing friggin happens! Can anyone else test out for me by uninstalling their flash player and reinstalling using the web installer?

Same problem

I've been grappling with this problem for over a week. The 'NEXT' button and other links don't work on the 'Update Flash Player Preferences' panel. Couldn't find any way to notify Adobe.

Suddenly Flash Player Not Recognized

Until yesterday afternoon I could view any Youtube or Facebook videos without any problem. But 2 hours later when a video is selected I get a window stating I must upgrade to the latest version of Flash player. I downloaded the latest version and installed it without any problem, but the selected videos continue to display the "must upgrade Flash" window. Also, other videos without the "need to upgrade window" play lousy - staggered as if buffering. What happened during those 2 hours to turn YouTube and Facebook videos useless?

BTW, I have Youtube HTML5 activated.

Update: Everything works fine in Chrome! Good bye Safari, Hello Chrome!

Did anybody get this to work? I have the same problem on one of the Mac's that I work on. The link that Speck provided did not work. Any help would be great!

U.K.
Had the same problem with my 2013 Macbook Air which I just updated to Mavericks.

Try this link guys:

http://forums.adobe.com/thread/889580

This will install an older version, you then need to go into Sys Preferences and click on the Flash icon. Click advanced, then go to Check Now for updates. Update to the latest version and you're done.

Same problem with Flash Player and Adobe.com links do not work

Just wondering if anyone has found a solution to Flash Player not working (not being able to click the Next button to complete installation) and the links on Adobe's website not working.

I have tried both solutions in this thread and nothing is working. Would appreciate any help or additional solutions.

Thanks!
