Flash router firmware to solve wifi issues?

Anyone try and flash their wireless router to try and improve d/l speed? I am only getting 1 mbs vs 10 with Iphone 3gs.

Anyone use tomato or dd-wrt?

Apple has stated that they will be releasing a software update to resolve the WiFi issues. But they haven't stated a time frame for it.

Hotel I was at denied my request to flash their hardware.

Yeah, I heard that Apple had a fix but you never know when that will actually come out. Hoping for a fix now.

Seeing that it is a big enough issue that they publicly acknowledged it and they are going to be releasing the iPad in 9 more countries next week, I think that it is a safe bet to say that the fix will come out sometime in June.

BTW: I have an old Linksys B/G router and am using WEP without any problems.
