Hi everyone,

i have an external box (http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/MAU3ENPRPCI/) with an Apple Flash SSD (the one for the Macbook Pro Retina. At work it was supposed to be used for Time Machine backups but it's a total waste of those 768 Gb.

I'm thinking to use it into my Mac Pro 5,1 at home, where I have a 128 Gb OCZ as primary disk and, as you can imagine, need frequent clean-up for its size.

I thought there should be some PCI adapter for that but, the flash not having a "standard" connector, I can't find a precise one to buy. Any better recommendations?

Or...with your knowledge...is the PCI card a useless trick, in terms of speed, and is it better to find a 2,5" SATA box?

Thanks for your answers

Thanks a lot. Don't know the year (and it wasn't pulled out from a Retina but ordered as a spare part and put into the box I linked).

I'm attaching a picture. My problem is I can't understand which connector it is and so what card to choose (in my understanding there's a difference between original and most recent Retina storage cards)

I'll also go ask in the thread you linked.

Btw...I contacted Sintech and they told me that is the 17+7 Pro SSD connector and they don't have a PCI card for that. I think I'll settle for now for a SATA card, at least I'm going to use it.
