My daughter is a high-level employee of an Apple retail store and has attended more than a few employee meetings regarding the iPad introduction. The basic party line from Apple (I think we may already know this) is consumers will like HTML5 more, Flash is buggy, and we don't really need Flash.

The absence of Flash is the reason I'm not buying an iPad. I could have gotten one a day early at a deep discount. I'm a long time user of Apple products (since 1985). This attitude of Jobs that he knows better (sealed battery on the iPhone, no Flash) makes no business sense to me.

This has been many threads about this, your post provide no additional information.

If you don't like that iPad doesn't have flash, don't buy it. Apple will not miss you.

The fact is, Steve Jobs does know what he's talking about. Flash is the most buggiest crap I experienced on the Macs, several mac people I know mentioned the same thing to me. Yes, there are several people who experienced no issues with Flash on the Macs, which may be because they don't use Flash as often as we do.

Looking at Apple's stock price and recent financials, it all makes perfect business sense to me.

The fact is, the average consumer (and that's 98% of Apple buyers) couldn't care less about no Flash, sealed batteries, no blu-ray or the rest of the often complained about things.

How about extending that discount to me? Help an unemployed brother out. :D

You're absolutely right. As it makes no business sense to me either I don't expect, and all HAVE to agree with me, that the iPad will be a big failure due to the absence of Flash. I mean it's used for over 75% of video playback on the 6u anyway.

Does Apple really think I, and by that I mean all the other people out there, will use their tools just to watch video?
iTunes Store and all the other possibilities are crap compared to what Flash can offer. Seriously. Very SERIOUSLY. BelieVE mE.

And another one bites the dust.

I know you're being sarcastic, but what is 6u?

And how many businesses have you take from bankruptcy to having BILLIONS of cash in the bank??? If none, that might explain why Jobs' business decisions make no sense to you.

Seems to be two camp here. Why would I buy an iPad to use at home as MY MAIN BROWSING TOOL and BE SHUT OUT of many, many websites. What am I missing when I read "The fact is, the average consumer (and that's 98% of Apple buyers) couldn't care less about no Flash". Where do get your facts from?
