i just installed a new superdrive on my mac mini, and when i booted it up, i see a grey screen with a flashing folder on it that has a ? and then the mac OS sign! i have tried everything, reseting RAM and PRAM, i looked at the apple forums, no help, nothing is working!!! also, when i put back in my old defective drive, it works again! the only thing is, that the defective drive doesnt work, so im out of luck!:confuse please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you boot holding OPTION with the new drive installed, does it take you to a screen where you can select your startup disk and boot into OSX?

i have tried that, and what i get is a watch (obviously a wait sign) and then two buttons, a refresh, circular arrow button, and an arrow pointing to the right. nothing else, just a blue screen.

actually, now that i look at it, one says DVR-K05PC ( the new one), and the old one is DVR-K06/1.... could that be the prob????
