My 2015 Macbook Pro is in bad shape. The keybaord doesn't work, the battery needs replaced, exterior is damaged and dented, and likely the interior could have water damage. However, when ran with an external keyboard: it works perfectly fine. Apple has offered to fix all the issues i know of, and don't know of for a flat $475 + tax.

Im contemplating doing this, or getting the Macbook Air for $1033. I can trade in my laptop (not sure how much it is worth), but I bet it would bring it down at least a couple hundred $$.

My thought process is that I love my Macbook Pro, and the way it runs, but I don't want to run into paying another $470 again down the road if this fix is not permanent.

Any advice? They tried to fix my keyboard by replacing a cable and it did not work, so not sure going local for a repair would be best.

If it's in as bad a shape as you describe, I'd trade it in for a replacement...
