My A1707 has got flexgate for a few years now. I finally got another used A1707 with no issues.
How to keep it from getting flexgate or how to make it just take longer, if it ever gets flexgate?

There probably isn't any way short of not opening/closing the lid any time not needed, as it's directly linked to the stress of this on the ribbon cable.

Just a thought... using a laptop-stand enforces opening the lid more than 90 degrees. That's one of the things I'm usually using.

Don't open the lid "way back".
Stick to around 90 degrees or just a little more, but not MUCH more.

Run it in clamshell mode.

Most people try to get rid of A1707 because of butterfly, flexgate, staingate, loose USB-C ports, and performance. It’s rare to see somebody try to buy another A1707, especially a used one.
