Is anyone running Flight Simulator X on a iMac with Vista or XP? I was thinking of getting a iMac and was wondering how well flight simulator runs. Also I was curious if when you play for a long time if the CPU & GPU heat up. I run it now on my 2.4 MBP and it runs pretty decent but the computer gets very hot.

Speak of the devil....

I just got done (hour ago) loading FSX onto my Vista 64 bootcamp partition. It runs very well. I still need to tweak it out some but I can sustain frame rates of aprox. 25 with settings fairly high on my 24" iMac w/2 gigs ram.

Don't forget to google some FSX tweaks to gain performance also. I still need to do that. But even now it runs better then the PC I just abandoned last week.

And on the pure Mac side, check out X-Plane, which is UNBELIEVABLE.

I've got it running no problem on my late 2006 iMac with 4GB RAM at highest screen resolution and it looks amazing and no artifacts, pixelation or issues of any kind. It has alot of configuration options to maximize the graphics and performance for your platform.
