Look at HW accessories, there is no FM Transmitter or Receiver in the iPhone.

Negative, in order to transmit via FM you will have to get a hardware device. Search online, there a ton of cables with built in FM Transmitters. I personally own the Belkin TuneBase FM with Hands-Free: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=492841 so I can move it from car to car.
To get the best sound quality, you should look at getting an iPhone/iPod aux adapter for your factory radio or a radio that has AUX inputs because FM transmitters can be kind of sketchy from time to time.

how do you like the tunebase? ive read a couple of reviews that it will break your iphone? and is it not compatible with 3gs?
