Hello.

I'm in the U.K and I'm looking for an FM transmitter for my iPhone 5s.

At present I am using a friend's Griffin iTrip (with 30 pin to Lightning Connector) and am looking for something that'll no require an AUX connector as my 2002 Ford Fiesta LX doesn't have an AUX input on the in car radio.

I have had a look on Amazon but a lot of the devices seem to have mixed to negative reviews.

Thank you!

Did you consider cassete adapter? A lot more reliable. Step further would be cassete adapter combined with Bluetooth receiver so you won't need to plug your iphone at all.

I was in the exact same situation as you. I had a 30 pin FM transmitter and got an iPhone 5s. Thought about the lightning to 30-pin connector but it adds unneeded bulk and is pricy for just a convertor.

In the end I found a much better solution by accident. Picked up a 30 pin bluetooth adaptor that plugs straight into my fm transmitter for only £5. It takes power from the fm transmitter so I have that plugged in to a cigarette lighter in my boot.

Now I can connect my phone to my car radio all wirelessly by just turning on my engine and I LOVE IT!

Hope this helps you solve your problem.

See if anyone makes an aftermarket interface for your stereo. FM transmitters and cassette adapters tend to severely compromise audio quality so unless you really don't care about audio quality they tend to be poor options.

Thank you for all of your replies.

I'll have a look on Thursday at the different options; but I'll have to discount the cassette option as my car is FM/CD only.

Cheers!
