Other FML Now I have an iPhone 8 Plus and an iPhone X

So I did not like the X. I did not like the notch. I did not like the narrower aspect ratio. I did not like that the battery life is shorter than the 8 Plus. What does anyone with that much dislike do? They get an 8 Plus of course.

Just to see it in person, to confirm my dislike... long story short, I actually like the X and there was a Silver 256 that I could have.

So not I have two iPhones and can’t decide which to keep.

UGH!

I feel like an idiot. I haven’t opened the X. Going to grab a beer and see if that helps me decide what to do lol.
 
Ugh how can anyone seriously use an iPhone 8 and previous ? And call it ‘worthy’ of the experience of the X and its KING screen?

Looking at those chins and foreheads... squinting through that tiny display (in comparison to the phone body). It is like looking at things through blinds. It is like picking up a RAZR, a blackberry or a first gen iPhone :)

I didn’t mind the chins until I saw the X. :(

You feel like an idiot? I waited in line for over 4 hours. They had a live demo to use and I ignored it and bought the X anyway. And I don't drink, so I have to live with it.
 
I knew I wanted the X but talked myself into buying an 8+ anyways thinking maybe that’ll be good enough.

It’s a wonderful phone but still, what was I thinking?!? Of course I still got the X and I love it. Hoping someone at work will be up for a gently used 8+.

Go with the X. I've always hoped for a redesign from those antiquated looking iPhones including the 8/8 Plus. Personally, I would lean my decision on the latest design. Besides, everything is good about the X IMO.

Being that you have 14 days with it, you Will have enough time to decide which you like better of the two. I would put both side-by-side and find comfortable to hold and what you like/dislike between the two.

I’ll have to unwrap the X and try it. I played with the demo in store which is what cause all of these problems.
 
I have an 8+ too... it's definitely a transition to go to the 'smaller' screen of the X - it feels smaller even though it's technically bigger. The ratio of the 8+ is what I'm used to. I figure in time, I'll get over it - the tech in the X is too much to pass up for me so it's staying.

Okay so my half day use of the X. It’s a good phone. I like it. The Face ID works great. I find the aspect ratio very hard to get used to. My hands are cramped up from typing on the keyboard. I’m sure I will adjust to the size. The big issue for me: the battery life is a huge step backwards from the 8 Plus.

I guess I have big hands, when I pick up the 8 Plus again, the size feels better to me.

First day is never really a great day for any phone... between restores, messing around with the phone and using it more than normal, it usually gets hammered on battery.

We'll see how it goes... maybe tomorrow it'll be worse, lol.
 
Fairly simple choice here. Either you go with the phone if today and tomorrow...the iPhone X...or you cling to the past with the 8/8+. I’ll take the superior look and tech of the X.

Hey, I just read your post and wanted your opinion. I am in the same boat as you. I bought an 8 plus in november and bought a 10 last Saturday. I have until this Saturday to make a decision on keeping the ten or returning it and just using the 8 plus. What did you wind up doing and why? Did you keep both or just one?

Hi, I ended up really liking the X. Was able to sell the 8 Plus for pretty much what I paid for it. A couple of months later, I’m glad it worked out, and very happy with the X. The X did take a few days to get used to, the size was an adjustment. Good luck with your choice!

I had bought the 8 Plus before the X was out.
