Hi,

So my gf is getting a speaker system for xmas and for various reasons did not get it on xmas day, but she now has the option to choose between either of these systems. As I am the techy guy in the family I have been engaged with the exciting task of figuring out which one is the better choice. Her parents already have and love the Focal XS system, and it immediately strikes me as the better choice, but it's more expensive and I'd like some more opinions as I am not familar with the Bose sounddock. It is on sale at Best Buy for $400 as opposed to its regular price of $650, but it seems to be sold out and it doesn't seem like it's possible to order one until the sale is over. The Focal system is $700 from the Apple store.

We will be using the system in the living room and assuming it is possible we will hook it up to our LG 47LE8500. They both have aux in ports, which I believe is what I need to do this. Am I correct?

Thanks.

I can't believe Focal and Bose are used in the same thread.

Focal = high quality audio

Bose = paper cone speakers, foam surrounds, tiny magnets, and thin plastic enclosures. But a top notch marketing department. No highs, no lows? It gotta be Bose.

If you want to hook this up to a TV i wouldn't suggest either. Consider an Onkyo HT-S6300 or Denon DHT-591BA. Or if you want a smaller form factor, get the Onkyo HTX-22HDX.

Hehe ok I guess you confirmed my suspicions. Ive read up more about it as well, and everything points to the same conclusion. Ive passed on my recommendation to my gf, so ill keep my fingers crossed for a focal system :)
