Hello all.

I’d like to set up a Focus for when my iPhone is on charge, so that it replies to iMessages and texts with an automated response.

Just so that people don’t think I’m ignoring them, when I’m in another room etc.

Is there a way to do this?

I could use the Driving Focus, and change my response from “I’m currently driving … “ but I’d rather leave that as it is.

Any ideas on this?

I just tried to create a new Focus, but there’s no option for an auto response.

Could I use a Shortcut, to initiate an automatic response, when a certain Focus mode is active?

I don’t know much (anything) about Shortcuts, other than the one I set up to let me know when my battery reaches 100% charge, so if anyone could also help me out with this I’d be grateful.

Thanks again, and stay well.

Driving focus is the only one that can have an automated response. I think it's odd they don't offer it on the other focuses as I would like to have a response on my work one

You can do this, use shortcut.
When focus works are activated and you receive a text then replay with xxx

Thanks for all of your responses.

As others have mentioned, only the Driving Focus allows specific auto replies.

This is a huge oversight on Apple, and what is otherwise a great feature.

Ok, so the Automation side is very straightforward.

Set that up easily.

The only issue being, Driving is the only Focus to allow for automated responses to iMessages & texts.
