I am trying out “smart activation” for personal focus, but I’m finding that it is really very dumb. It frequently turns on and never turns off.

Here‘s when it turned on today:

1. Right after sleep focus turned off.
2. After driving focus turned off.
3. Some point randomly during the day.

Basically I don’t understand what the point of it is. It’s almost the same as setting permanent DND because it decides to turn itself on all the time.

Has anyone found that “smart activation” actually works?

Yes when I get in my car it turns on automatically some how as soon as I step out it will turn off it works perfect. When I get into bed it will go to sleep mode when I get out it will disable. its very very smart indeed

It seems to be working for me as well. My sleep focus is time triggered, my work focus is triggered by location and driving triggers automatically

You are talking about various focuses, such as sleep and car focus which turn on and off based on timing or connecting to the car. I agree those work fine since they don’t even support “smart activation”.

What I’m talking about is the “smart activation” automation that can be added to other focuses such as personal, work and do not disturb. That one just randomly activates for no reason.

I had to disable smart activation and I’m now nagged by the smart focus suggestions notifications. It appears too random for my liking.

I’m satisfied with just defining a time and location for them to activate though. That way, you are the smarts and not your phone.
