Folder Icon Preview Not Showing When "Saving as.."

Hi there, I am a new Mac user (Mini Late 2012). Recently I was wondering why there were no preview icons whenever I would like to "save as" my documents..

Any thoughts how to make these icons reappear on my Mac? Thanks!

If you can determine whether other apps are affected, then I would be be prepared to suggest that Office isn't the problem.
