I have a folder on an external drive, formatted to exFAT, that has the following description from get info. I'm running 10.8.2 on an Air, but I doubt that matters.

Size: 1,893,552,665 bytes (6.36 GB on disk) for 8,777 items

What's up with the huge difference? Is it because of exFAT?

Thanks

It depends on the cluster size, if the cluster size is very big and you have a lot of small files then there might be a very big difference....

Thanks. It probably has to do with it being a ~1.74TB partition. I don't have to worry about running out of space yet, but would the way to fix that be to make a couple smaller partitions?
