Installed Categories months ago. Had my apps all neatly in 11 folders but wanted icon options and found Categories V1 Icons which is labeled an add-on pack.

I still have my folders, but when I launch Categories, I have a blank screen, it no longer sees all of my existing folders.

I assume I can create new folders and put my apps in these, but then I have two sets of folders... and no way to delete the old folders.

Any ideas?

How old is the Categories V1 Icons add on ?

Categories has been updated a whole bunch lately and the developer of the add on pack may not have kept up.

Could be why it crapped out on you, not updated to work with newer versions of Categories.

I contacted support and got:

If you are having troubles because folders from older version of categories are still on your springboard but you cannot edit them in the categories app, I suggest hiding them in sbsettings, poof, or such and then making new folders and filling them up. Alternatively, if you are fluent in ssh, ifile or such, you could delete the folders out of / Applications rather than hide them.

Apparently, this also updates Categories and the update does not find old folders. So, I spent hours re-creating my folders.

It is a bit frustrating, but as someone accustomed to using alpha and beta software, not uncommon.
