font lag, IDCS5???

Hi all,

first time poster here,

we're having a bit of trouble at work with one of our publications taking roughly 2-4 seconds to apply a style guide and/or undo.

It's very temperamental as one day it isn't so bad, others it's unworkable. We've tried the same machine, same word doc placed into a new indd and that is fine.

Is the document corrupt or has anyone got any other clues?

We're all running hi end macs and rebooting or using a different machine doesn't produce any better results.

The problem can be:
- something in MacOS
- InDesign

Did you try to erase the font cache?

When you open an old publication in the new version of InDesign, things are slow. However, when you re-create the publication from scratch in the new version of InDesign, things are fine.

What could be the issue?
