I'm looking for this font, not sure if it's already on my MBP or not. Any ideas? If it's not part of Leopard, any ideas where I can download it?

Nearly all of Apple's branded type use is in various weights of Myriad Pro. That's an expensive commercial font, so the only places you could find to download it would be less-than-savory (and not able to be linked here).

EDIT: Unless you want to buy it! In which case the basic Myriad Pro 10-font package (no Extended or Condensed versions) is $230 from Adobe.com in the US.

A few varieties of Myriad, but the most commonly used one is actually Myriad Set, not Myriad Pro (Semi-Bold).

IIRC, Myriad has shipped with MacOS X since forever. I have eight members of the Myriad Apple family installed on my computer. The only two MacOS X Adobe apps installed are Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional and Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.

I don't have Myriad on my mac. Are you certain it wasn't installed by one of those two Adobe apps?

According to this, it does not appear that Myriad ships with OS X (unless they've added it since they released Leopard, which seems unlikely). I think it probably came with your copy of Photoshop Elements.

And for what it's worth, Myriad Pro is the default font on Adobe Illustrator CS3, which lends further credence to the notion that it is included with Adobe programs.

...
OK. I have Myriad Apple and Myriad Pro. Myriad Pro is date-stamped March 2008. Clearly, I installed it when I installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 6. Myriad Apple is date-stamped February 2004. It is the old name for Myriad Set. It was an Internet download.

There do appear to be a few vestiges of Apple Garamond
left over. E.g., I have some Mac Pro memory stickers with
"Memory Module" written in what appears to be Garamond.

But you're right. It's mostly Myriad Pro (or rather, a variant
of that: Myriad Set) these days.
