I've been using word 2004 (on my iMac G4 running 10.3.9) for a few days without any issues whatsoever, and now, all of a sudden, my fonts are all cramped up and unreadable. (see pic) The problem occured after I installed SPSS 11 which ran horribly slow and kept crashing. (I have no idea if there is a connection) Either way, I uninstalled MS office and did a reinstall. Same problem. Then I removed SPSS, Un- and reinstalled office again, repaired permissions, updated office with servicepacks and all, rebooted, and no cigar. Anyone out there knows the magic trick?

Have you tried throwing out Word's preference files and the font cache?

Home folder>Library>Preferences>Microsoft>Office Font Cache (11)

and...
com.microsoft.Word.prefs.plist

Or you could try moving the entire 'Microsoft' folder in Preferences to your desktop and restarting Word to see if that's the problem. If not, you can easily move it back...

Tried that, but still no cigar... Any other tricks up the sleeve?:)
Thanx for taking the time
