Hey all,
So I have an issue where I kept a rather large collection of Fonts on iCloud Drive. For whatever reason, many of these fonts are now zero bytes.

I use RightFont to manage my fonts and this stores fonts in ~/RightFont. These are all OK.

Does anyone know of a way that I can scan all Hard Drives local and external for fonts (.ttf .otf) and move good ones to a single folder organised alphabetically removing duplicates?

Thanks

Firstly I would make sure you are not messing around with system fonts, quick way to screw up your computer.

I had not heard of RightFont manager, looks like some nice software without a subscription. I am still using FontExplorer Pro. Font Explorer Pro has an option to organize fonts when you add them. I always like this as it is saving the files in its own organized directory so I can delete the file after adding it. Does RightFont not have something similar?

So right about system fonts. I made that mistake once years ago!😅

I used to use FontExplorer Pro but, years ago, found it buggy so moved to RightFont.

I managed to find an old utility that, amazingly, still works on my Mac Studio. FontDoctor. I made copies of every font folder I had then ran it to scan and organise into a new folder alphabetically/Foundry. It did this, removed duplicates and fixed issues. From 6GB to 3

One issue I noticed was many fonts have no file extensions. The file types are OK, just no .ext. I'll see if I can find a script or something that can fix this issue.

Once done, I'll clean out RightFOnt and add everything to it.
