Hi, can some advice me on how I would get uncompressed SD/HD video into my Macbook Pro.
I use Combustion and thinking about buying Final Cut Studio.

Thanks for any help.

Hi, can some advice me on how I would get uncompressed SD/HD video into my Macbook Pro.

For uncompressed SD via SDI an AJA iO will work and I would also recommend a Expresscard FW800 or SATA card to connect your storage to.

For HD your stuck with HDV, XDCAM-HD or DVCPRO-HD via Firewire, not seen a HD-SDI solution for Expresscard and I believe Expresscard is too slow anyway.

Do you have an old G5, if so you this to capture the HD-SDI with a suitable card and storage then transfer to the MBP.

You will need Final Cut Studio for certain codecs (XDCAM, DVCPRO-HD etc.) as they only come with Final Cut Pro (which is only available in the Final Cut Studio bundle)
