My bf broke his phone (nexus5) - he ordered a spare part and tried to fix it but it still doesnt work as it should. Probably there is even more broken... So... I was already thinking to buy a new phone for him as a xmas present but i probably need to buy it sooner...

Im going to buy iphone 6s plus to myself, and was going to get same to my bf but he has said that it is too big and nexus5 is a perfect size. I agree - it is good one all the way. But... He has also checked moto x play (i quess or the style one), Note 5, new nexus and sony experia z3 (or 5). All of them are larger than nexus5. He also said that my oneplus one is too large for him.

He already has mbpr and air2 which i bought for him on last xmas so i was thinking that iphone 6s would be a nice addition.

I have to say that he isnt a big fan of ios, he always have had android and all the phones he has checked have been androids. He also doesnt like much touchwiz, so samsung phones are abit "hmm?". He doesnt like Edge or s6.

Right now im thinking of buying iphone 6s, but not sure about which one. Im quite sure that he would like to get a small phone instead of a large one, but i know that the tech fascinates him - e.g. Note 5.

The problem is that iphone 6s isnt yet released here so i have to wait a week (or so if they dont have enough in stores) and in the meanwhile he may buy a new phone by himself. I also have the impression that he thinks that ios is dull and would like to tweak the phone...

So would it be a cardinal mistake to buy iphone 6s instead of android?

If size is an issue, Nexus 5X, though I hear the 6P overall size feels like a 5.5" device even though it has a 5.7" screen. After the recent announcements from Motorola, I'd shy away from buying one of their phones now for fear of being left in the cold as far as updates are concerned. Not to mention that 2 of their apps that make their recent phones what they are have been announced as being sunset (discontinued). The 6P also has 3 GB of RAM vs. the 2 GB in the 5X, the 6P base storage is 32 GB (FINALLY someone gets it!) where the 5X base storage is 16 GB.

Well the closest to the Nexus 5 size out there on the high end is probably the HTC One M9. And also the S6 and the Nexus 5X are also pretty close. What other criteria does he have?

The Note 5, GS6, and HTC One M9 all come with 32gb base. Actually, HTC has had a base of 32gb since the One M7.

As for the op, if he really doesn't want an iPhone, no need to force one on him. If you really feel he would like it if he gives a chance, you can let him barrow your iPhone when you get your plus, this could also buy you time until some of the other android phones come out.

Other option could be a Sony Xperia Z5 compact.

Thanks! The problem is that many phones are about 5,5" nowadays so finding a smaller one is hard...

Good point, i probably buy iphone6s+ to myself at first and then check what he thinks about it.

I bought a Moto E at that price to replace an iPod and I loved it.
