Wow, I hope that makes you feel real good. Laughing at people who want the most out of their money. The fact that Apple has decided to lag behind other vendors does not make me want to rush out and buy a CD MBP even more.
I mean, I could pay top dollar for a laptop with "yesterday's" processor, an underclocked mid-range GPU, terrible chassis (heat problems, no easy-access HDD) - it's just the OS that counts, right? Or I can hold onto my money until Apple brings something worthy to the table. I enjoy OS X and all, but I'm not going to be robbed of my money in buying relatively sub-par hardware.
As for those doubting C2Ds shipping, just do a google search. If you think that dozens of people on other forums are lying about their C2Ds being shipped, then it's time to stop drinking the iKool-Aid. I was being a bit hard on Apple about a week ago, for being a week late. Now they're a minimum of two weeks late, and if Tuesday updates hold true, and pending on how long shipping takes, they might be as long as three to four weeks behind.
As for Apple "spoiling" us with updates - Apple is not my benefactor. Apple is a vendor, and I am a customer. If it weren't for OS X being bound to the hardware, I definitely would have taken my money elsewhere. Technically for me, there is no competition; Apple has a monopoly over my personal computing hardware. All the same, when I shell out a ton of money for an Apple product, I expect for it to be as good as it could possibly be (within reasonable limits) and C2D is definitely in those limits. (Same price, only a chip swap.)
