I am getting ready to purchase this theme and wanted to know if the theme is a bundle you activate via Winterboard?

I want the theme, but i'm not fond of the lock screen.. Is there a setting to uncheck the lock screen? I'd prefer the default iOS lock screen (or slider).

I'm a noob when it comes to Winterboard, so go easy on me!

Yep, the Newport theme is all one bundle that you activate via Winterboard, but has no separate sub-package for the lockscreen (LS) or option/setting to change. That said, my best advice is to check out some of the LS packages in Cydia to see if there's one you like.

If you find one, you can move the LS package above the Newport package in Winterboard, and it (your preferred LS) should override the default Newport-themed LS.

Thanks for the response! So, Winterboard works like a hierarchy? Is there any lock screen theme you're aware of that's close to the default?

Edit: Really, I don't mind the lock screen.. I'd like to change the slider back to default, though. I'm assuming iFile would come into play...

Yep, Winterboard presents a hierarchical list of the packages you have installed. Whatever is at the top of the list takes precedence. For example, I like my LS wallpaper, so I put "User Lock Wallpaper" at the top of the list, and it overrides whatever WP my current theme includes.

I have a LS with a weather widget, so I've deviated from stock a bit. I did a quick search of Cydia for "slider" and found a ton of options. If you've already jailbroken your phone, I'd suggest downloading a few of the slider packs to see what you like. Once you've found it, purchase Newport and activate it in Winterboard, just place your slider package on top/ahead of Newport.

PS: if your new to Cydia, it's a snap to add & remove packages from your phone so if you're using free packages the only thing you sacrifice with this method is time. Not only that, but many packages have screenshots so you can get an idea of what you're installing or what the end result is in advance.

You've been extremely helpful! Thanks so much for all the info. Exactly why I love the jail breaking community!

You're welcome! I'm not as knowledgeable on JB'ing as many others but I'm happy to help when I can. Knowledge sharing is how we all move ahead. :D Enjoy the jailbreak, it can be a lot of fun!

Even tho it may be sacrilege to mention another forum here, you might check out iMore forums as another resource for all things iPhone :apple:

Thanks! I frequent that forum every now and then, but I've learned a lot from Macrumors. Jail breaking is such a fun experience.. It's such a journey to get the perfect setup, but a fun one!
