I lost the music icon in the menu, and can't access the main window --- I can't find any way to bring it iback???

boot from OS disk, perform a disk verification and an Permissions repair , this should fix your issue.

Sure
Step 1)
Insert you install disk that came with the computer and then shut the computer down.

Step 2) Turn the computer on , but as soon as you hit the power button press and hold the "OPTION" key and wait about 5-15 seconds for a mouse icon to appear and then a hard drive icon, then a CD icon. (MAKE SURE YOU HOLD THE OPTION KEY TILL YOU SEE THIS)

Step 3)
Press the right pointer button or use your mouse to select the CD icon and press enter when its high lighted or click enter

Step 4 Now you will be booting from the OS disk. This could take fro 1-5 min depending on the computer. Once the computer has booted the disk it will ask you what language you want. Select the language of your choice and press enter.

Step 5 (pay close attention)
Now ignore eveything it is showing you in the next windows. Go up to the menu bar at the top of the screen and select "GO" then select "DISK UTILITY"

Next you will see a windows with a white box on the left with a list of all the disks you have installed on the computer i.e Hard drive ( to include you volume of MAC OS X), and optical drive.

Click on the VERY TOP selection right next to the hard drive icon. Then to your right you will see a large white box with 4 smaller selection boxes in it.

Select " Repair Disk Permission"

This can take anywhere from 10 seconds to a few hours depending on how messed up your computer is.
Just be patient and let it to its thing.
once it is done close the window and go back to "GO" and select "START UP DISK"
Then select the MAC OS X icon and select "RESTART "

Your computer will restart and you should be good to go.

If this does not work follow the same steps above but ignore the disk utility and follow the on screen boxes with the installed application.
