Every new TV has a USB port. Even recent fridges that have displays / screens built in has a USB port in it. USB 2.0 was released in 2000, 10 years later, this "revolutionary device" doesn't even have it built in, it has an adapter for 1port. What an absolute joke.

And cameras.

Everything is mandated to have a camera and a usb port.

In fact some day every device made will simply be a camera with a usb port on it.

Do you really need a new thread for every single detail that you hate about the thing?

lmao!
He pimps Palm - unfortunately since Palm hasn't done amazingly well he's been curiously quiet.

and the Pixi doesn't have wifi.

The iaphone doesn't need a USB port. For te few users that actually need certain inputs they may be able to get adapters. No need to clutter it with stuff.
Why doesn't a freezer usually have a light but a fridge does?

We could say about the Pixi - OMG it doesn't have wifi!

What would you want USB for? It's got to earn it's place. The dock connector and BT are good enough to run lots of 3rd party add ons.

It ought to have a USB port and an SD slot if it truly is going to bridge the phone-laptop divide. Hopefully these will be included in version 2 once Apple get the customer feedback.

Apple doesn't care. The right way to do it is to get a me.com account and share everything though the cloud. Or if you are really cheap and nasty, you should automatically sync over a wireless network to your iMac.

Making it harder to transfer files is good for Apple, because it corrals you into the Apple ecosystem. They don't want you sharing movies on USB sticks. They want you downloading from iTunes.

^^

Fair points. Thinking about it of course this is a Cloud device, so you're right. Most likely eventually it won't even sync to your Mac any more. Thanks.

I think more than anything they don't want to mar the device with ugly and unergonomic usb peripherals hanging off it, since the whole point is to be able to hold it in your hand, rotate it etc...
