For everyone wishing the iPhone had the Nexus1's OLED screen.

1 - "scientifically speaking" the iPhone's screen may be better, but to my eyes - which is what matters - it isn't.
2 - Showing a few examples of where the screen performs worse than the iPhone does not change the fact it looks better 99% of the time.

This is the 5th or 6th time this test has been posted.
It has been pointed out multiple times before that it turns out that the problems are software related not hardware related.....

It was on some of the many updates tech sites have been posting. Or at least the ones that care more about the truth than getting headlines and choose to look a little deeper at it and discovered that if you are not using the native android apps those problems that this "test" found were not there. This showed that it was a software issue not a hardware issues.
As for this test being posted it does not take long to find multiple ones of the exact same damn test being posted. people are posting links to a site that links back to the exact same flawed test.

Love it how it's now come down to 'scientific' evidence to make the iPhone screen seem better than the N1. Why are people so reluctant to accept that the iPhone screen doesn't look as good, and why do they feel the need to go to such an extent to disprove this?! It's sad!
The iPhone's screen tech is 3 years older and a lot lower resolution than the Nexus One's. It should be inferior - I fully expect it to be inferior.
I have a few phones with AMOLEDs and OLEDs. They all look worse (less bright) than my iPhone except for the Nexus, but only because it has seemingly a million more pixels. It still looks much less bright, indoors and out.

Always. All cellphones have LED backlights. I think you're confusing panel types.
It should still be referred to as an LCD screen no matter how it's backlit.

Nowadays most mobile LCDs do have LED backlights.
It's possible that some of the early large screen phones had either CCFL or electroluminescent backlights. CCFL and LED are not that different in power usage, and each has its own benefits as far as color goes. (I know for sure that many PDAs used CCFLs; will have to dig on the cellphones.)
