In my case, I updated for the iPhone 6 to the 11 pro. My plan is to keep the phone til the latest software is no longer available. Plus I tend to replace the battery like an old G.

Usually I upgrade every year but this time I’m planning to keep pro max for at least 4. If ram is enough to handle 3 cameras decently then I’ll try to stick with it for as long as possible.

3 years. Got my iPhone 8 2 years ago and will wait for next year to upgrade.

Every 1 - 2 years here, depends what Apple offer and the state of my current phone, not meaning the condition, more so the battery, I’m a heavy user.

I used to upgrade every year until now

Holding on until a BOGO 11 pro offer or I'm just going to wait until next year when 5G comes out

I upgrade every year through Verizon. I'm on my third year of that and it's worked out fine so far.

2 years to 3.5 years as a primary phone.

After that the phone sticks around until it dies or I tire of replacing it.

My 6s+ was upgraded to a Pixel 3a XL in May, but it's serving as my secondary phone.

I have a 4 and a 4s. My iPhone 5 has been replaced four times now since the original in 2012. It's due to be replaced again for yet another swelling battery. Eventually I will tire of replacing it and that'll be it for that phone.

I usually keep my phones for two years. I think that way you see a significant difference when you come to upgrade. I recently went from an iPhone 8 to the 11 Pro and the difference is night and day.

1 year

I usually buy new one, and sell ''old'' one

maybe if I really don't like new model, I skip..but usually 1 year is lifetime of my iPhone

Usually 1-2 years. I have the 11 pro max now and will hold for 2 years until 5g comes out.

Previously every 2 years, but now taking my iPhone 7 into a fourth year. It’s running great on iOS 13 (replaced three battery a year ago) and the current models don’t tempt me enough - Pro is too expensive and 11 is too big

So far I've gone from 6 plus to 8 plus, might well get the 12/Pro next year, so 3 year intervals so far. Probably not coincidental that's also Apple's redesign interval now...

Usually every 2 years, I used to get the redesgin version over the s version, I brought an 8 Plus and sold it 3 months later for an X, still got the X now as the XS wasn’t enough for me

Now I’m torn, I like the new 11 Pro, but I know if a redesign comes out next year I’ll get that, got an order with EE should be here tomorrow and still debating what to do

It’s been every year since the iPhone 3G but this year I’m just keeping my XS Max as it there’s no slowdown and the battery is still at 100 percent health.
