For iPhone application distribution iPhone or iPod touch required (actual hardware)?

I am struggling with the putting the Provisional Profiling on Xcode or iTunes.

I do not have an iPhone nor iPod touch (hardware) device.

Also searched mac for ~/Library/MobileDevice/Provisioning Profiles did , not find any such folders.

Not getting the provisional profiling selection option in ‘Any iPhone OS Device’ pop-up menu below the ‘Code Signing Identity’

While building get an error :

"Checking Dependencies
CodeSign error: no provisioning profiles found for code signing identity 'iPhone Developer'"

I have the Distibution Certificate and WWDR Intermediate Certificate in place.

Please any one can help me on this.

Thank you.

A device isn't actually required to distribute an app but it's recommended to test on the device as the device is not the same as the simulator. Stuff that works on the simulator might not even compile for the device. Also the device has a lot less ram and is a lot slower.

You won't be able to test usability or performance, or even if the damn thing works. There are differences between the simulator and the actual hardware, so I deploy my apps during development from a very early stage to pick up issues sooner rather than later.
