I studied Pro Max spec sheet and practically all the “Pro Max” features - I don’t need. So I started thinking that if I was buying big iPhone, Plus model would actually be the “Pro Max” for me 😄

Lighter
Has better battery life
Less camera bump
Costs less

And the Pro Max would be inferior model because heavier, thicker bump, worse battery life, costs more.

So my advice to ppl who consider Pro Max, think about it hard, besides big screen, do you REALLY need those features or maybe - light weight - battery life - thinness - are more important features to you.

Just wanted to share this point of view. Yours may differ and thats cool. Pro Max is beautiful device no doubt. But don’t feel inferior if you just like Plus better. Buy wan’t you need/like, not what others say you need/should get.

Good luck.

Problem for me is I want a phone to be a phone and make calls, send texts, connect to internet etc etc, manufactures concentrate so much on making phones cameras and then charging silly amounts of money because it can take nice pictures……I have a small pocket Sony camera with a 1” sensor that takes amazing pictures I don’t want to spend so much money on a phones picture taking ability so I got the 15 Plus and extremely pleased with it 👍

I know what you mean, and I agree. I really don't care about the camera's as I'm not a NFL or NBA photographer. But 120hz display is what my next phone should have.

It's quite a shame Apple doesn't put 120hz displays on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. For the price tag, it should be included.

90 would be a good middle ground. The $350 Samsung I just bought for work has a 90hz oled…

What type of Sony pocket camera is it?

My subjective opinion:

15 Plus offers the most value (for most people) this year.

The only (slight) con is the 60Hz display.

Need.

One of the biggest obstacles to getting what you want. To some, the only acceptable justification for buying anything. To others, the stick to beat people with who have bought what they did not need or more than they needed (or both).

I gave up need as a reason to get anything a long time ago. My buying decisions are based on what I want!

So, I don't have to think very hard. I either want it or I do not. And if I want it, I will find a way to get it.

In the long run, I usually end up getting what I need with plenty of room to spare. But, If all I ever got was only what I needed, I would never own what I wanted.

My eyes can't see ProMotion. I chose the 15 Plus for the 20 grams lighter weight. My previous iPhone was a 14 Pro. I miss the always-on display. And that's it. I love the 15 Plus.

Every matched storage size is just $200 less.

Unless you want to go for the starting 128gb option at $300 less than the Pro Max starting 256gb, I don't see the Plus as a deal against the Pro Max.

The Pro Max is already has great battery life, I personally wouldn't sacrifice a newer chip, action button, camera setup, and the USB-C port speed, just for about 1 1/2 hour longer battery life.

A lot of it is status symbol. Good luck trying to change those minds 😂

And the price. A 256go Plus is too close in price to a 15PM. At least the PM give you decent features. With the plus we pay premium but we get a half baked cake
Even though 256GB is more popular, I think for the majority 128GB is fine.

If you don’t use those Pro features, that $200 difference and more weight doesn’t make sense. The Plus already has 2X optical zoom. It’s down to that 10% performance of A17 Pro, 8GB RAM, and 120Hz.

I have 64 GB iPhone with 23 GB used. All my stuff is on iCloud. So additional GBs have no value to me at all. It’s like paying for nothing. If you need 256 then sure, might want to think Plus or PM.

Exactly the reason I went Plus this year and am happy with my choice. The camera is more than decent enough on it. I have come to the realisation that the incremental camera upgrades year on year are nothing really.

Heck, how good the camera phone is in a phone isn’t a major part of my decision process. I still look back on photos taken on lesser cameras than I have in my pocket now with fondness, not once have I thought to myself, I wish that sky was a little bluer or the that the leaves on the tree were a little sharper. It’s the memories the photos evoke that count not how detailed they are.

Processing power has been enough for me since the iPhone 8 for how I use my phone so as nice as the bragging rights are I’m not fussed.
