So as good as the MBP 16" speakers are ive always used boom3d and honestly I can make the sound a whole lot better, especially at low to mid volume. Here's my EQ curve that I found sounds best so far along with fidelity turned on.

Hmm. Interesting. Thanks. I'll try this, even though I've plugged into a pair of Logitech desktop speakers. Just out of curiosity.
Meanwhile, I wish they'd make the app compatible with FaceTime. No issue with Zoom...

I've used it for quite some time on all my desktop macs with various setups. Good boosting thru external 2+1 speakers. Perhaps you'd like to know that VOX (free app) produces analogous sound without the Boom 3D running.
