I once used to the dual sim with two different numbers and carriers.

I since have put the att phone on its own phone and reformatted the Verizon phone and even changed my Apple ID.

Occasionally when I send an iMessage with one of those effects I get this error message.

There in only one number in my phone and I still can’t figure out what this happens.

I've never used dual-sim and I've gotten that error message before and no idea what causes it.

The only way I know how to remove it is to edit the contact information in the phone or contacts app. There's a field in there all the way at the bottom (forget what the name is but it's obvious) and deleting that or setting it to my phone number.

I can’t figure this out and Apple is useless.

When you reformatted the Verizon phone, did you the. Restore your iPhone’s data from a backup? (I’m not positive, but from your post, it sounds like you’re getting the error on the Verizon phone).

if you want to get rid of the error message, you probably need to do the reformat without doing a restore.

if you’ve done that, I’d assume the problem is on the Apple servers somehow...

I’m really just guessing though. But it makes sense how the knowledge of the second number could be carried forward through a reformat

Youmsaid you change your Apple ID. But you didn’t say if you’re using the same Apple ID on both of the current phones. If you are using the same Apple ID, that could be how the Apple servers know you have two phone numbers...

Hooked the vzw phone up to my Mac and totally erased it and downloaded a fresh copy of iOS.

no backup no nothing then I took the new Apple ID and put it on the phone.

it seems like some people have the same issue.
