How hard is it to create a simple app that lets you create lists, has alarms that trigger based on time of day and such, and that can sync across the web, a phone and your computer? Tons of reminder apps on the App Store can do this. Microsoft To Do is working flawlessly right now for me. But multiple updates into iOS 13, the release of Catalina and so on, Apple's Reminders are still a complete mess.
I created a test list on my MacBook Pro in Catalina and added a couple of items to the list. Went to beta.icloud.com after probably 15 mins. The list is there, but none of the items in the list. Turned Reminders on my phone back on in iCloud, wait. Does my test list start showing up? Hell no. It starts pulling down old lists that I deleted a week ago when I moved to Microsoft To Do.
I've turned iCloud syncing on and off on the MBP and my iPhone. On my iPhone I actually deleted the Reminders app and reinstalled it from the App Store. Crazy enough, the reminders from MS To Do are able to sync into the Apple Reminders app with no trouble. But Apple's native Reminders stuff in iCloud is a complete s***show.
