I believe I have solved the problem of the iPhone 3G and BlackRa1n. What you need to do is have a clean 3.1.2 software on your iPhone 3G, then open iTunes, then close it, once your iPhone was recognized. Next open up Task Manager and delete ONLY these files:

iPodService.exe
distnoted.exe

Leave these Task's Running:

AppleMobileDeviceService.exe
SyncServer.exe

Next place BlackRa1n.exe on your C:/
Run it like you regularly would and it should work!

thanks a million. tried all kinds of solutions and couldn't get it to work. this should be stickied temporarily.
