Alright, so I just beat F.E.A.R. on my Macbook Pro, amazing game (I was able to run it at high specs at a high res)

Picked up the expansion packs, WTH >.<

The first expansion pack, Extraction Point, is so laggy, even with lower specs than the first game!!! and it uses the same graphical engine!!! >.<

Has anyone else had this issue? Its really pissing me off lol =/

I've also played FEAR on my Macbook Pro with fantastic results. Haven't tried the expansions though, wasn't even aware there were ones. I notice my graphics SOMETIMES get laggy (well its more like dropping to a consistent 8 or 9 fps when they are normally 30 or 40) when I put my laptop to sleep then wake it up and try to play games. A restart usually solves this.

I would try playing with the settings in both the game engine and the control panel settings for your video card. Sometimes these two things conflict with each other to cause some pretty weird results. (While playing crysis once certain textures were see-through and i couldn't get anything but the amazing crysis slide show on low settings.) Other than that make sure your drivers are up to date and maybe try reinstalling. That's all I can think of.

I'm pretty sure the expansion packs weren't made by Monolith, which could explain their shoddy quality. I have heard numerous complaints about them. I never bought them although FEAR was an excellent game. I hope Project Origin (ie. FEAR 2) is as good.

Project Origin is going to ignore Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate but I actually thought Extraction Point was decent, the first few levels are a bit shoddy but once you get near the end the combat and the fright scenes get really good.

At first EP is laggy because you have those open levels with tons of flames but later on the framerate stabilizes, it should really run the same as FEAR.

Extraction Point runs really choppy on my MBP as well. Worst of all, it doesn't even support widescreen resolutions.

Ok, thanks for the help guys. I have been reading reviews and decided not to even play the "fake" expansions, I'm waiting til Project Origin, it looks pretty amazing. :)

I payed $30 for the 3 F.E.A.R. games, so not playing the expansions I bought doesnt really bother me :D. Playing the original F.E.A.R. was worth the $30 alone.

Anyone know the release date for Project Origin? I couldnt find it on the site, then again I was half asleep.
