I just got off the phone and this is what UPS told me....

If you are getting something like this:

3rdr

It means that you were downgraded to a different kind of shipment. You will still get your precious iPad on saturday.

"THE SERVICE SELECTED IS NOT AVAILABLE TO THE DESTINATION ADDRESS / DOWNGRADED, FORWARDED TO CONSIGNEE, SELECTED SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE" Does NOT mean that Saturday Delivery is not supported in your area.

Even for rural areas apparently; UPS WILL attempt to deliver your package this coming saturday (no matter where you are located). If delivery fails, it will be counted as a "Failed Delivery" and a second attempt will be made on Monday.

The guy also told me that status updates may also be slow because they are dealing with LOTS of packages from Apple. Primarily sent to people, Apple Stores and several Best Buys across the nation. (Lol OH REALLY?).

Now, lets just hope that all this is true. I really don't want to wait 'till monday to get my iPad. :D

I saw someone in the Big Shipping Thread with this exception say that he was told it just means he'll get it by *end of day* Saturday, whereas people in more typically "Saturday delivery" areas will probably get it in the morning.

But I have no source and I probably couldn't find the original post if I tried.
