How different is the layout of the Music App for those of you who did not sign up for Apple Music? The old app worked just fine for me. Although I still prefer a "traditional" iPod for music as I like the click wheel instead of a big screen to "touch" my music. I'm just curious as I don't want to update and lose the old App if the new one (without Apple Music) is not so great.

It's workable. One thing I like is that it doesn't expand all albums in artist view anymore. One thing I hate is that you sometimes have to scroll a lot to get to the top to switch between views (artists, genre,etc.). There are also a number of small glitches, but hopefully they'll be solved soon. I think it looks nicer than the 8.3 app. However, I still think the iOS 6 app was far better than what we have today. I'll never understand why they thought they had to break what was working fine.

Yeah I agree. As the old saying goes "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Could you possibly post screen shots of the new App?
