Does anyone know if a docking station will play music being streamed to an iPod Touch as opposed to the music being directly stored on the iPod itself?

My music collection (31GB) is stored on a Synology DS109 NAS drive which I can listen to on my iPhone through an app (DS Audio) and it works really well. I'm now thinking of an iPod Touch and a docking station (possibly a Gear4 HouseParty4) but not sure if this would work. If it did then I could get a 32GB Touch instead of the 64GB and save some money.

Another thought just occurred to me as well - streaming radio apps. Would these play?

Is it a case of whatever comes out of the iPod's speakers can be heard through a docking station?

Thanks
