Hi there,

is it possible to force my MacBook Pro to only charge up to 80%. I read that the new mechanism will lean my behavior, but that's not what I want. I want to manually turn it on, because I almost never need more than that. It's would be much butter than hoping that it sometimes doesn't charge to full capacity.

Thanks in advance
Schniko

It's not Apple's policy, but sometime when a "managed function" is introduced, there're some terminal tweaks to enable them manually..

I call it hope :)

I didn't know, thank.s Unfortunately it's not working on my new MBP 2020. It still charges up to 100% :-(

Apple’s system appears to let the battery run down to maybe 90% and then charge back up. I happened to notice my work computer was at 91% and charging while on power last night so I don’t know exactly how low it went.
