After complaining how annoying it was to try and manage an iTunes library while also using Spotify, I'm starting to wonder if it was a better option. Merging local files and streaming is confusing the hell out of me. I have a lot of old files that I ripped (a long time ago) at around 128kbps. How does the Music app handle streaming when it notices that the local files are of lower quality? Does it automatically replace them with higher quality version or just stream the new file? I suppose it's also possible that it does nothing.
Would it be more effective now that I have iCloud Music Library enabled, to just try and sync my iPhone with my Mac and tell it not to sync music files? This way it would force download anything I tried to listen to in my library?
A few simple toggles (stream Higher Quality if available and streaming quality options) in the settings menu would really simplify the overall experience?
