My daughter has an iPhone 6, and I have my router setup to go through a specific DNS so I can implement parental controls for entire house for all devices without having to put parental software on all the devices. The issue is that when she is home I do not want her to have the ability to disable the wifi on her phone and therefore bypassing the parental controls. I understand that when she is away and on cellular I will have no control, but while in my house I would like for us all to have a safe web browsing environment.
Thanks in advance.

Don't know of a way to do that unless Apple included it under Restrictions (which they don't). If you downloaded a network monitoring app that would let you know which devices are connected to the WIFI you could at least tell if she was disconnected from your network.

Take her sim so she has to use wifi. :)

On a more serious note. As mentioned above there is no way to do it. Maybe there is a jailbreak tweak available but that's probably not an option.

I guess perhaps if cellular data is disabled and restrictions are set to not allow changes to it (if there's a restriction for that), that might work, but it would basically have to be disabled each time the device comes into the house and re-enabled each time it leaves the house.

Thanks for the responses...

Is there a program such as "Tasker" for the iPhone?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm&hl=en

I have used this on an Android phone in the past, and you could make your phone do almost anything you wanted. I had is set for things such as:

  • phone face down it was on mute
  • phone face up, not on mute
  • plug in headphones, auto launch music app.
  • Get to church it would auto mute.
  • Leave church it would be unmute
  • If phone was on mute, but my wife would call it would unmute specifically for her call and go back to mute when done.
If iPhone has an app like this I might can figure something out where at least it would continue to go back to wifi if in the house.

If jailbroken, there might be some tweaks that allow for things of that nature, otherwise, with stock iOS, some of those things (in one form or another) might be doable, based on what Apple has put into iOS, but most controls of that type aren't something that Apple provides or allows other apps to use.
