Has anyone noticed that after the 3.0 update you can't force quit an appt on the iphone.. Remember if you hold the home button for so long it would close out whatever app you were in.. It doesn't do that anymore.... Is it just me...???

1. With the app open, hold down the power button until the "slide to power off" appears.
2. Hold the home button until the open app closes.

Force Quit is still there in 3.0. It's done a different way.

Hold the Sleep/Wake button until the "Slide to Power Off" screen appears.

Then press and hold the Home button until the application Force Quits.

Why has it changed??

Because holding the Home button on an iPhone 3GS activates Voice Control.

Ah, I was wondering about that. I don't have a 3G S so I forgot about activating the voice control.

different

There IS some sort of diff though for the force quit.

before, I would do force quite by holding down the home button in safari, and it would quit. If I opened safari again, it would open a page, usually google.com There really isn't a home page.

Now, if I force quit, doing the shut down sequence, then hold the home button, it quits but when I open safari again I have like five open windows, ALL of which I had closed previously. It is somehow RESTORING some legacy session with all these open windows.

I hope this is just a bug and will be fixed in 3.1

Thanks but can you explain it in grade 2 terms! lol ALA Micheal Scott
:D
Do as shown in the pic below, and then you'll notice that the code in your message box will look like what Ivan P explained above.
